Unreal Tournament Revolution is a mod that turns UT2004 game play to UT99, but still high quality like UT2004. Its going to be almost exact like UT99 game play, a beta is due in Jan or Feb. Site is: http://utr.unrealfans.com/index.php

awesome i was thinking of doing that the first time i played UT2k4.

yeah, everything is getting converted over, every weapon, each map, textures etc, the whole thing could end up being well over 1gb uncompressed 
except it will all be alot more detailed

Bloody you rippa...only thing I fear is a split of the community...some on 2k4 vers and some on ut1 vers...but it could cure my shotlags..

Agree but grown used to it having been forced to use it when the big split occured...node and xxx...xxx definately at the time was entirely full of noobs (whhahh me all you like, you know its true), then slowly there was a transfer then node went down and it was all ZP :/

I don't care how it looks s'long as it plays the exact same.
Though the flak in 2k4 is much better than ut1...by far, but changing one or two things would just be stupid and they aim to make it exactly like ut99 but better graphics and on the 2k4 engine.
2k4 netplay is way superior to ut99 so I really look forward to this.

I dont think so... I think that there wont be the diversity that UT99 enjoys. and for most it will just be a novelty, a passing fad

LOL, The guy that was running the UTR show and left the team atm, but it has been taken over by someone alot more skilled, and the times they preticted were off the track by abit, the mod is about 50% done towards the beta, so could be awhile befor we get it

From what i read... the authors had already had a game with the alpha version and announced a beta version shortly thereafter. 
But then again... they are looking 4 donations so they might be stringing peeps along
